Mary Lawlor
Manager of Color Marketing
Mary Lawlor joined Kelly-Moore in 1996 as an architectural services representative and became Kelly-Moore’s color stylist in 2000. In 2010, she was named manager of color marketing. In her current position, she tracks the paint industry’s color trends and develops both consumer and trade-friendly color tools for Kelly-Moore. Mary has worked closely with homeowner associations and commercial property owners to develop authentic color palettes for their communities.
Mary developed Kelly-Moore’s Color Rendering program, a major contribution to the company and an effective tool for the company’s sales and specialty representatives as they engage homebuilders and property owners. It produces lifelike 2D and 3D property images of new color selections to facilitate easy buying decisions. Among Mary’s other notable contributions to Kelly-Moore is the innovative “Historic Lifestyles of the West” color palette providing an easy and accurate guide on how to preserve or adapt classic Western architectural styles with appropriate color choices.
Previously, as a Kelly-Moore architectural services representative, Mary worked directly with new homebuilders, interior designers and architects to assist Kelly-Moore in securing large building contracts using competitive color tools. While in this position, Mary recognized the need for more comprehensive color tools and developed both a color binder and a color board program for painters for easy identification.
Mary is an active Industry Partner member of the American Society of Interior Design and a chair-holder in the Color Marketing Group. She speaks to design and paint groups on color forecasts and provides insight on color trends and color style evolution. She began her career at a Toronto-based paint company while studying interior design at Seneca College.
